Charitable Giving Opportunities Abound in Fairfax City

Post Date:11/21/2020

Fairfax City residents, businesses and friends have many opportunities to help families in need and spread holiday joy by participating in local charitable-giving programs.

  • Donate books to the Connected Care program, which supports many families in Fairfax City who may not have access to books during the pandemic because their school library is closed or has limited access. Our goal is to have a small library at our site that children can borrow books from to read. Here's how you can help:
  • Contribute toward the Connect Care Scholarship and Donation Fund, providing child care for families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is scheduled to continue into 2021.
  • Drop off new, unwrapped toys for Santa’s Ride by December 7 in the City Hall Atrium. Sponsored by the City of Fairfax Police Department and numerous other local public safety agencies. Information: 703-385-7866.
  • Britepaths, a Fairfax non-profit organization that has partnered with the city Parks & Recreation Department on numerous occasions, accepts financial support and gift cards as part of its Holiday Program. Click here for information.

Holidays can be financially challenging, so please note that some organizations accept contributions year-round. Please feel free to bookmark those websites for future giving opportunities for future reference. Thank you for all you do for your community!
