On December 11, 2012 the Mayor and City Council approved a resolution establishing a City Charter Commission to review and analyze the City's Charter.

The Commission was made up of the following members:

• John Mason (Chairman)
• Jane Woods
• Gary Rasmussen
• Patrice Winter
• Nancy Loftus
• Tom Ross
• Fred McCoy

Mayor and City Council held an outreach on January 20, 2018 to share with the public what is going on in the City of Fairfax.  Topics of discussion included Financing, budget and debt outlook, status updates of development sites throughout the City as well as an update on the 2035 Comprehensive Plan.
