Fairfax City Hall is operating under Limited Access, allowing public access to city government offices by appointment only, including DMV Select services, effective June 8, 2020.
How to Make an Appointment:
Scroll down to the list of departments and find the department with which you wish to make an appointment. Please click on "Make an Appointment,"or call/email that department to set up an appointment time.
- Appointments must be made the previous workday, at least 24 hours in advance.
- Unscheduled visitors will not be permitted entry.
- Visitor who are more than five minutes late may have their appointments cancelled, and must reschedule with the appropriate department.
- Visitors will only be allowed in five minutes before their appointment.
- Please enter and exit City Hall from the Fairfax City Hall Atrium, from the east door facing George Mason Boulevard and adjacent to full accessibility parking. All other doors will be locked.
- Visitors must check their temperature in the Atrium. Those with a temperature greater than 100.4ºF will be asked to reschedule their appointment.
- Reminder: the Commonwealth of Virginia has mandated the wearing of face coverings in all indoor public spaces. Please practice social distancing.
Exemptions
General District Court — Customers will be directed to the General District Court Office adjacent to the Atrium. Please note: on court days (Tuesdays & Thursdays effective June 12, 2020), only those who are scheduled to appear in court may enter the court area while court is in session. Contact the General District Court Office for more information.
The following city facilities remain closed until further notice:
- Police Department headquarters lobby (a phone adjacent to the lobby may be used for walk-ins and emergency)
